To get back into blogging after a four year hiatus has been quite a challenge, to say the least. I sat at my computer surrounded by endless drafts, figuring out why it was still so difficult to blog without dealing with writer’s block. It hit me that I was doing it all wrong by trying to blog the same as I did five years ago.

Writing all Summer Long

Since I started my blog, I couldn’t get my blogging feet back under me. I thought that I was dealing with writer’s block, but I wasn’t and then realized that I had ran into the same writing issues when I blogged five years ago.

Two weeks ago, I realized that I did not need nor want to follow the old blogging style that I had done five years ago. It was not working for me than and it was not going to work for me now.

Old Blogging Style

I read somewhere that content creators and bloggers, make content that draws out the point just to make content. I took that to heart .

I started writing long form blog post, this was against what I originally wanted to do but I did it anyways.

In my long form content, I would packed my post full to the brim which required me to work on each article for months.

Looking back at my old work, I recognized that those post were unable to present my point like I believed it was doing.

I spent months working on them, thinking that I was doing my best, and was happy at the work. I have look over those post and see that they are not my best for the time I spent on them.

New Blog Style

I am going to write the way that I prefer and find it easier for me to do.

I am not good at long-form writing but I am better with short form.

I am not going to follow trends or listen to people’s opinions based on how long content needs to be. Even if it means I “drag out” my point out.

Writing multiple posts on one topic allows me to share more thoughts, opinions, bible verses, resources, and definitions from both dictionary and concordance.

If I find that a blog post can not be done in multiple post or in short form, it will be in long-form but those will likely be filled with research points. They will be more personal and from experience.

Blog Hurdles

I started writing about a year before I decided to start my blog back up again. As of now I have a lot of drafts waiting to be taken care of properly. This has been taking some time, energy and brainstorming.

I have three pages of ideas of what I want to write about but where to start? I have been trying to figure that out.

With Dyslexia, ADHD, and OCD, writing takes longer and there is days were it not easy to write with.

I am stay-at-home mom to five kids, a homemaker, homesteader and hobbyist. Life is busy. I blog when I can.

How often will I be Posting

I will not have a schedule.

I want to write content that will do the job. That I can look back on and be happy with the work that I have put into it.

Readers, Thank you for your patience as I get back into the groove of Blogging. To find the style that works for me, navigating the huge pile of drafts and shuffling through the ideas of blog post. Starting over means that I can do things differently.
